Merci, mes amis... ;)

Well the show was magnificent this year, held at the Saatchi Gallery for the fourth year running the space certainly suits this fantastic exposure of great watch brands from all over the globe.

Here are just a few images of the eagerly awaited BR X1 which finally arrived in the UK for Salon QP.
I took the opportunity to photograph the watch properly, since seeing it in Basel earlier this year.

BR X1

My view of the watch has certainly changed since March.
Like most things, time often helps you either mellow, or get used to change. The BR X1 for me was very dramatic when I first encountered it, now however the story is told and the watch stands alone in this Aviation narration.

This is the first step for Bell & Ross in creating their own in-house movement and moving away from pre manufactured ETA movements. Needs must.

The BR X1 pushes and indeed blurs the boundaries of sportiness, fictionality and readability with their continued and strong Aviation story in this futuristic contemporary take , which reflects the old and the new.

Just a 250 Ltd Ed using a special movement created by Dubois-Depraz for B&R.

I love the use of the red buttons, the skeletal dial and the almost protective framework around the BR01 case, making it more tactile whilst giving it that rugged and sporty look.

The famed B&R B-Rocket bike built by Shaw Harley-Davidson was also on show too, having been to the Salt Flats in the US where it traveled at 150 mph in some extreme conditions!

thanks my friend for sharing it with us !

I agree with you. First, post Baselworld, I didn't understand why BR wants to produce the X1 at that price... I did'nt understand how a BR could be at that price and what in that piece makes it so different.

After having finally it on my wrist... All is clear ! This watch is just fabulous and for me, the price is a really good price when you see how it's made, how it's finished etc etc.

I'm loving it ! :coeur:
